Work or business not where you’d hope them to be?
Don’t settle.

About Me

The Origin Story!
I’m Nicky – a Channel Islander by origin, a critical thinker by instinct.
I believe that the edge is where we grow. Something about being in an outpost, perhaps, brought out the outlier. Maybe that’s why I’ve always been drawn to the edges of ideas — to the places where nuance lives, where reflection sparks change, and where you’re more likely to find the right question than a ready-made answer.
That’s the spirit I bring to coaching. Quietly disruptive. Deeply reflective. Devoted to insight, not instruction.

My MA research was awarded a distinction for its original methodology, and I’ve received awards for Innovation in course design and delivery and for being an Inspiring Trainer.
In 2024 and 2025, I was a panelist presenter at the Photography in Coaching Symposium and selected for Create South East’s Business Growth programme.
Journaling
I facilitate in-person and online journaling sessions – for business owners, creatives, staff, community groups, for library services and more!
I discovered that the quiet act of journaling was a radical act from quite a young age. A companion, a guide, a thought disrupter, mood enhancer, chief sense maker. Writing freely on the page is an act of self-knowing. Relevant for navigating complexities, paradoxes, difficult emotions. For life, for work. It’s made all the difference.
And that’s why I facilitate groups. A simple, free tool to help you see yourself more and live your bigger picture.
Work/Life Pages 30-mins on a Monday morning online (UK time) is the perfect week to set the tone for the week.
Welcome to these thinking places. Pull up a chair, find your edge — and unlock better answers.
HUMAN RIGHTS & ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
I used to work in human rights and lived for a decade overseas – Russia, Czech Republic, Japan and Italy amongst other places. Working with Roma NGOs, I worked frequently in Romania and ran training and study visits to Ukraine. I secured funding for multi-partner, multi-country, multi-year democracy building projects.
CREATIVE WRITING & WORKSHOP FACILITATION
I write creatively and my record of publications and creative writing courses can be read on my sister site: https://nickytorodesite.wordpress.com/

Nicky's coaching style is a wonderful combination of earthy pragmatism and sparkling creativity. I found the magic of Nicky's authentic voice, her sharp intellect and ethos to be remarkably valuable. Her coaching was instrumental in bringing my values and vision to light in a major project which is a culmination of my life work
I value so much our Coaching Circle - a unique atmosphere of open sharing, caring, knowing that all opinions matter and are respected. So many insights and 'aha' moments. These sessions help me keep the internal light on in the midst of stormy waters I was in the last year.
Early bird journaling at the start of the week is like a cup of coffee in the morning - a great time to prepare for the whole week and not to forget about yourself. It’s a moment to relax my mind and listen to myself, really important when I get overwhelmed with daily tasks. Sessions help me step back, see if I’m doing things the right way and enable me to produce ideas. Early Bird Journaling
